Dear Friends of Rutherford Housing Partnership,
Etta and her husband retired here from Gaston County 30 years ago, moving into their forever home. Life was good.
Now 81 and widowed for a decade, Etta finds herself like hundreds of other Rutherford County senior adults in our community - living on a fixed Social Security income in a home that is aging right alongside her. Her roof was leaking, causing ceilings to fall in, and floors were softening beneath her feet. She lived in daily fear of falling through the weak spots.
All of that changed when Rutherford Housing Partnership stepped in.
Thanks to our volunteers, partners, and donors, Etta received the repairs she needed to make her home safe again. As she walked through her restored home, she smiled and said,
“It’s been a blessing.”
This is what your generosity makes possible.
Your support ensures that seniors like Etta, neighbors who have spent a lifetime working, raising families,
contributing to our county can continue to live safely and with dignity in the homes they love.
Every month, more calls come in from people facing urgent, unsafe housing conditions: leaking roofs, failing floors, broken heat systems, and accessibility challenges that make daily life risky. The need is rising, and so is the number of seniors struggling to keep up with basic home repairs.
Your donation today helps bridge that gap.
It helps ensure that someone’s mother, father, grandmother, or neighbor won’t have to choose between medicine, groceries, or fixing a dangerous repair.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we hope you will join us in making home a safe place for every resident of Rutherford County. Your kindness restores more than wood, shingles, or flooring. It restores peace of mind.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing beside the people who need us most.
With gratitude,
Rutherford Housing Partnership Staff and Board
