Pathway to Homeownership
Your Path to Home Starts Here.
Homeownership can feel overwhelming, especially when you aren't sure where to begin. Rutherford Housing Partnership's Pathway to Homeownership is designed to help individuals and families understand their options, connect with the right resources, and take the next step toward owning a home.
Whether you rent from RHP, rent somewhere else, are looking for an affordable homeownership opportunity, or want to explore a traditional mortgage, you don't have to figure it out on your own.
Start with RHP. We'll help connect you to the resource you need.
Rent.Purchase.
Home.
Connect.
Prepare.
Where Are You Starting?
There isn't one path to homeownership. Tell us where you are today, and we'll help you explore what comes next.
-
Are you currently living in an RHP rental and interested in becoming a homeowner?
RHP wants our affordable rental properties to provide more than a place to live. For residents who are interested in homeownership, we can help you explore opportunities to prepare for and transition into owning a home.
Your pathway may include homeownership readiness, connections to financial resources, mortgage qualification, partner programs, or the opportunity to purchase an affordable home built by RHP when homes are available.
-
You do not have to rent from RHP to start your pathway with us.
If you currently rent from another landlord but would like to become a homeowner, RHP can help you explore your options.
You may be interested in purchasing an affordable home built by RHP or you may qualify for another homeownership program in our community. We'll help identify potential resources and connect you with organizations that can help you take the next step.
-
Affordable homeownership opportunities are available through several organizations and programs, and figuring out where to apply can be confusing.
RHP can help connect you with homeownership opportunities through Rutherford Housing Partnership, Gateway Wellness Foundation, Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity, and other community resources based on your needs and the programs currently available.
You don't need to know which organization is the right fit before contacting us.
Tell us where you are now, and we'll help you find a place to start.
-
You may be closer to homeownership than you think.
If you're interested in purchasing a home through a traditional mortgage, we can connect you with lenders and community resources that can help you understand the process.
These resources may help you learn more about:
• Mortgage prequalification
• Credit and financial readiness
• Budgeting for homeownership
• Down payment and closing costs
• Available mortgage programs
• Steps you may need to take before applyingTalking with someone about your options doesn't mean you have to be ready to purchase a home today.
-
That's exactly why we're here.
You don't need to know which program you qualify for. You don't need to know which organization to call. And you don't have to be ready to purchase a home today.
